The Course

The Lake Macbride Duathlon is in its third year at one of the best state parks in Iowa. Come run-bike-run on May 19th at 8AM. The race starts at the Main Lodge at Lake Macbride, with the first run within the park, followed by the bike course that goes toward Solon, wraps around Lake Macbride and comes back the same way. The second run leg is a mix of pavement and trail that is also within the park. This course will be a fast one so get ready to set your PR!

The course includes two scenic runs through Lake MacBride state park, and an out-and-back bike leg that takes you through the nearby town of Solon, IA. The runs are partially on trails, partially on pavement, and all trail sections are well compacted, crushed gravel and marked. The bike route is entirely on pavement with several rolling hills.
